Run Both Days & Get a Good Night Sleep Prior to Race Day
The Marriott City Center Hotel in Oakland is offering a great deal for our Sunday runners. Those who register to stay Saturday night at the hotel using the marathon's group code will receive a FREE ENTRY into the Twilight 5K that night. This race makes a great warm up for your longer distance run on Sunday and will get you in the racing spirit with a run around Lake Merritt.
A good night's sleep prior to race day and the chance to be in the center of all the weekend's Festival activities might be just what the doctor ordered. With the Expo on Saturday and now a FREE ENTRY into the 5K held that evening it makes even more sense to stay downtown. That coupled with the 7:30 am start time for the Full Marathon and Team Relay on Sunday, it is a virtual no-brainer. (Note: The BART public transportation system does not open until 8am on Sunday.)
